NAC presents Trees, an art exhibit of landscape paintings by artist Mark Patnode at the NAC Gallery. Creating a tangible sense of place in his paintings, Patnode often works on a large scale to further envelope himself in the act of creating, and conveying that experience to the viewer. "The light from the sky influences everything," Patnode says, "because it is not only above us but all around us. What is around objects puts color in them."

Patnode recently received recognition for his painting of the Charter Oak that was chosen by Governor Rell to be used for the logo of Connecticut's Tercentennial. He has been a Fellow of the Urban Artists Initiative and has exhibited his work internationally.
